How Do I use the spam & virus filters?General Email Questions

DomainIT email and web hosting plans include customizable spam filters that you configure directly through your Control Panel.

In order to access the spam filters for your domain, please follow these steps:

1) Login to MyAccount at https://www.domainit.com
2) In the "Account Manger" side menu, click "Open Control Panel" for the domain
3) Click the "Professional Spam Filter" icon
4) Select Login

Once in the dashboard you have many options:
-Log Search and Spam quarantine will show you what emails have been filtered.  From there you can view the messages or release them for delivery and train the system (for any false positives).
-Domain Statistics gives a breakdown of how many emails and spam were received.
-Report spam and Report not spam will allow you to upload a .eml file for any emails you wish to help train the system.
-Reports are helpful for catching false positives.  You can receive daily or weekly emails listing the messages that were filtered as spam for a specific user or all users.
-Attachment restrictions allow you to block certain file extensions and known dangerous file types.
-Sender Blacklist and Whitelist will allow you to block or allow all email from any specific email address or domain.  You can also upload a CSV to add in bulk.
-Manage email users allows you to create a separate login for single email users so they can manage/view their own spam settings.  Logins created here will be able to log in directly at http://spamfilter.domainit.com

Please note that even with the most advanced spam blocking methods, it is also very important to practice basic spam prevention behavior when on the Internet.  Publicly displaying your email address on any website without encoding or masking is a surefire way to expose yourself to spam abuse.  You should also take care not to provide your email address to any questionable or disreputable companies or mailing lists.
