How do I transfer my domain name to another hosting provider?Domain Transfers

You will be pleased to know that it is NOT necessary to go through the task of unlocking your domain and waiting 5 days to transfer your domain name if you simply want to host your web site with a different company. You can simply change your nameservers. To do so, request your new hosting provider's nameserver information then follow the steps below: 1) Login to MyAccount at https://www.domainit.com/myaccount 2) Click the "Nameservers" tab 3) Click the nameservers you would like to modify 4) Click "Stop Using DomainIT Nameservers" 5) Add your new Nameservers in the fields below 6) Click on the "Save Changes" button The nameservers will update immediately, but it can take up to 24 hours for the global nameservers to recognize the update. This is known as propagation. Should you still wish to transfer your domain name to a new registrar, you may follow these steps in order to unlock your domain and retrieve your authorization code: 1) Login to your Account Manager at https://www.domainit.com/myaccount 2) Click on the domain name you want to manage 3) Under "Advanced Settings - Registry Status", click "Unlock" 4) Under "Advanced Settings - Authorization Code", click "Retrieve" | |
